It's Halloween once more, and Mr Jim Moon brings you another epic show delving into the long history of this autumnal festival. In this episode, we ransack the shelves of the Great Library of Dreams to trace the history of Halloween in popular culture, from the poems of Robert Burns, through the works of Edgar Allan Poe and Sir Walter Scott, and into the heyday of the Victorian ghost story.

We have reached the 1980s in our history of Halloween, and in this chapter we look at the first half of that decade, discovering Halloween TV specials galore from well-loved shows, various movie Tricks and Treats, the return of Michael Myers, and the rise of Elvira!

In this epic length episode we journey through the later half of the 1980s, rounding up a variety of Halloween themed movies and TV specials. GHOST HUNT
Just in time for Halloween, Mr Jim Moon presents a special episode - a radio play that tells the tale of a most disturbing haunting, adapted from the classic chiller, Ghost Hunt by HR Wakefield.

THE OCTOBER GAME
As is traditional, here is a suitably eerie tale of terror for Hallowe'en night. It's an old favourite from Ray Bradbury as it appeared in the pages of Weird Tales!

RANDALL'S ROUND
In this eerie tale set on the night of All Hallows Eve, Mr Jim Moon presents a slice of vintage folk horror with a reading of Randall's Round by Eleanor Scott

In our first Seasonal Special, Teresa and Jim celebrate Hallowe'en with a viewing of a legendary TV movie- Ghostwatch. Written by Stephen Volk and screened on Hallowe'en Night 1992, this BBC 1 movie pulled in a huge audience and scared the wits out of the entire nation!

This Halloween we are going back to 1982 to watch the classic collaboration between George Romero and Stephen King - Creepshow! An anthology horror which pays tribute to the infamous EC horror comics of the 1950s with an all-star cast including Ed Harris, Ted Danson, Leslie Nielsen, EG Marshall, Hal Holbrook, Fritz Weaver, and Adrienne Barbeau!
